Manufacturing Process

  1. Ingredient Preparation

    • Dry Mix: Sift and blend all dry ingredients—flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

    • Wet Mix: Cream together butter and sugars (white and brown) until light and fluffy. Add in eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix until fully combined.

  2. Dough Formation

    • Gradually add dry mix to the wet mix.

    • Fold in chocolate chips or white chocolate chunks (optional but common in red velvet cookies).

  3. Resting (Optional but Recommended)

    • Chill dough for 30 minutes to 1 hour to improve texture and flavor development.

  4. Portioning & Shaping

    • Scoop dough into uniform balls using a cookie scoop or by hand.

    • Flatten slightly for even baking.

  5. Baking

    • Bake at 170–180°C (340–355°F) for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are set but centers are soft.

    • Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

  6. Cooling & Packaging

    • Once completely cooled, cookies are packed in moisture-proof, food-grade packaging to maintain freshness.

    • For hampers or premium packaging, cookies may be individually wrapped or layered with protective inserts.

Core Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder (typically a small amount, for the signature subtle chocolatey base)

  • Baking soda

  • Salt

  • Unsalted butter (room temperature)

  • Granulated sugar

  • Brown sugar (for added moisture and chewiness)

  • Eggs

  • Vanilla extract

  • Red food coloring (liquid or gel)

  • Optional Mix-ins:

    • Cream cheese bits or filling (for a stuffed version)

    • Nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans for crunch)

Popular Flavor Variations

  1. Classic Red Velvet with White Chocolate Chips

    • A decadent twist with a molten cream cheese filling or layer.

  3. Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

  4. Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies

    • Two soft cookies filled with a cream cheese or vanilla frosting layer.

  5. Nutty Red Velvet

    • Includes crushed pecans or walnuts for added texture.

  6. Red Velvet Mocha

    • Subtle espresso flavor added to intensify the cocoa notes.
